Interaction Design

Interaction Design (IxD) Studio is a second-year core program for Design Computing students. The course familiarises students with theory and practices targeted towards the adoption of more iterative Design processes and a workflow which is receptive to user feedback. Prototyping lies at the heart of the course, we encourage students to consider the value of low-fidelity prototyping (for example, sketching) to convey ideas and refine plans, then progress to high-fidelity prototypes (functional previews of a final-product) based on changes based on user-feedback and data collection. Students are guided through industry-standard Design software including Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator and then introduced to web-technologies including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery. All in one semester. Pictured here is an online exhibition catalogue Designed by Adam SMITH and Lachlan SUTHERLAND.
